A Flyby of Chrome Hill

Just after the Self Service snack shop, the frst view of my location. That little tree half way up, jsut before it get's steep.

The tree looks to be in the right place for the popular viewpoit so that's where we are headed.

With Chrome hill on one side, we have parkhouse hill on the other forming the Dragons Back - a challenging scramble route.

We saw a group making a descent as we walked past, most of them were sat on their backside sliding. it was a slippy day.

Below is the view from the tree. we didn't hang around. the wind had picked up by this point and Debbie wasn't overly happy about the slippy conditions. - if anyone has hiked in micro spikes or micro crampons and can reccommend a some to look at, that ould be apriciated.

On the way down I noticed more and more compositions like this one. I really like the way the path on this one leads you over the ridge and towards Parkhouse Hill.

We stopped at the self service snack shop for a hot chockolate and put he drone up. and although the direct light had gone we were treated to some colourful coulds while we enjoyed our drink.

I want to return in the snow, i'm just not sure i would attempt the drive in said snow as the roads were a bit ropey on the descent into the village.

Parking for this walk was the Tea Room at Hollinsclough, Chapel Hall, Buxton SK17 0RH
